About Jean Odermatt
Born on September 13, 1948 in Lucerne, Switzerland, Jean Odermatt is an artist and sociologist. Conceptual art is where he likes to express most. Fields of activity: photography, film, multimedia, new media, texts, etching, writing, performing, art on building, sculpture, land art, light. He’s the winner of the European Cultural Project Award 2000.
1968 Studied art history and German and French literature at the UZH University of Zurich, CH. F+F School of Experimental Design, Zurich, CH.
Subsequently London School of Radical Theatre, London, GB. Afterwards studies in Sociology and Ethnology at UZH University Zurich, CH.
Licentiate 1977. Various teaching assignments.
1980 - 2005 Lecturer in Sociology at the ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences Winterthur, CH.
2005 - 2010 Director of the "Laboratorio Cultura Visiva" SUPSI Lugano, CH.
Since 2012 lecturer HKB, among others, course director master class in event design at Bern University of the Arts, HKB CH.
